Sun Light manufacturing was established in 1927 by Sentaro Ishii. He created and took an interest in nylon optical frame which was still in its infancy stage in the days. Sun Light also crafted handmade rimless eyewear frames.

Established by Sentaro Ishii

Sentaro Ishii was a master of Fukui glasses making technology. The glasses were made mainly in Tokyo and Osaka in the Meiji period. After the opening of the office, he wore glasses of copper and precious metal alloys in a downtown area of Tokyo.

After 1946 the second generation, Masaaki Ishii started making eyeglasses with the first generation, launched Ishi Mfg Co., Ltd. and set up an eyeglass factory in Katsushika-ku, Tokyo.
